To the cross…

It is that time of year again. A time to remember why we praise the Glory of God for what he did for us. Jesus Christ came down as man and sacrificed himself for our sins. He paid a horrible price for us, humans that already passed, were present or not even born yet. The people he created and loved. It’s always a great time of year to reflect on what the true meaning of Easter is, especially when you share it with family and friends.

John 3:16-21

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

Psalm 147:2-4

The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names.

It’s always important to remember and reflect and share. Jesus Christ died for us. That is something even to this day is hard to take in because knowing Jesus died for me, for my sins just because he loved me is such an Awe moment and so priceless that words can not even describe. I want people to continue to think of Easter as not just bunnies, eggs, and candy; but to think of it as the day the Lord died for us and raised himself from the dead!

Jeremy Riddle – Sweetly Broken

To the cross I look, to the cross I cling
Of its suffering I do drink
Of its work I do sing

For on it my Savior both bruised and crushed
Showed that God is love
And God is just

At the cross You beckon me
You draw me gently to my knees, and I am
Lost for words, so lost in love,
I’m sweetly broken, wholly surrendered

What a priceless gift, undeserved life
Have I been given
Through Christ crucified

You’ve called me out of death
You’ve called me into life
And I was under Your wrath
Now through the cross I’m reconciled

At the cross You beckon me
You draw me gently to my knees, and I am
Lost for words, so lost in love,
I’m sweetly broken, wholly surrendered

In awe of the cross I must confess
How wondrous Your redeeming love and
How great is Your faithfulness
